Rose Charities New Zealand was registered as a NZ internationally operating NGO in 2001. It ran for the next 20 years, first out of Christchurch then Auckland (though board members were from both areas) carrying out and developing programs of almost unparalleled success in eye care, including sight restoration and other eye surgery in Cambodia (in partnership with Rose Charities Cambodia), in education in Nepal, emergency assistance in the Philippines and both health care and emergency relief in the nations of the south and central Pacific.
Rose Charities New Zealand also were major supporters of many local NZ organizations specializing in youth, immigrants, and disability in arts, education, and general support
